Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Spreading in UK
You may be aware of a new fatal disease affecting rabbits. Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease 2 (RVHD2) is now spreading throughout the UK and causing many deaths. This is a new variant which is airborne (unlike the RVHD1 which is spread by insect) and is taking hold in the South West, especially in multi rabbit households.
In addition to the combined annual RVHD1 and Myxomatosis vaccine, your rabbit should receive a twice yearly RVHD2 vaccine, which we now have available by special import from France.
Don’t delay, contact your surgery now for an appointment to protect your rabbit.
